Internship Program for the TN Finance Department in 2022:

TN Finance Department: Sound fiscal policy combined with appropriate welfare spending is critical for every state’s economic stability and development. The involvement of the Finance department in any State, directly or indirectly, extends to all schemes, policy initiatives, and day-to-day government functioning. Given the complexities and problems that policymakers confront in effectively utilising taxpayers’ money, in addition to careful budgetary management, it is critical that the knowledge pool of stakeholders in the process be expanded to optimise the Department’s stated objectives.

Academic qualification:

Students pursuing PhD degrees in fields such as Economics, Finance, Law, Commerce, Management, Information Technology, and Statistics. Candidates must have a distinction (75 percent or a CGPA of 7.5) in their post-graduate degree. Candidates with a Ph.D. are desired. In addition, the candidate should be fluent in Tamil.

The following is the selection procedure for the TN Finance Department Internship Programme 2022:                                                                                                                                                                                  

Stage 1: Online Evaluation (Computer-Based Test) Personal Interview (Stage 2)

The Online Assessment will be a computer-based test (CBT) of objective type (multiple choice questions) with a maximum point value of 100. Candidates will be evaluated in three parts: (1) Quantitative Analysis (to assess basic math skills, such as algebra, numbers, geometry, statistics, and data interpretation at the level of tenth grade) (2) Verbal Comprehension and Logical Reasoning (to evaluate a candidate’s comprehension and communication skills, analytical ability, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and overall mental aptitude), and (3) General Awareness and Economic Affairs. There will be a failing grade (-0.33 points for every incorrect answer). The testing facilities would be in key cities in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Mumbai. The availability of test centres is subject to change. A panel of experts, including domain experts, will conduct a personal interview to assess the candidate’s appropriateness, intellectual quality, research potential, and calibre. The combined score from the Online Assessment and Personal Interview will be used to determine the final merit list.
